Off to the Emerald Isle

off to dublin in about a week! Gonna go see the guinness brewery, the book of kells, and so much more. The cool thing is that its kinda a family reunion, I'll be seeing my aunt and uncle, my cousin and his son, and of my other cousin's kids. Its extra awsome to be going to visit my family somewhere where my crappy crappy german won't be a huge problem. I'm FINALLY going back to Europe.
The other upside to the trip is that I'll FINALLY get a day off work, (10 days straight and counting, I swear I might kill a customer soon) since I've been covering for people because of a fucked up schedule, and my quest for extra money for the trip (I can't decide if I should be bitter or not). Its probably not good to start relating to your insane and sleep-deprived boss. Too late.

A big candy coloured acid trip..

and i loved it! Charlie and the chocolate factory was pretty darn good! It was the way i always imagined things were in Roald Dahl books when I read them as a kid... soo good and crazy. It wasn't scary like i thought it would be, and johnny depp was awsome as wonka, I loved how much he hated all the kids! He even gave me some great ideas about what to do when people bring their horrible offspring to the store. and don't even get me started on the sweet sweet oompa loompa dance numbers! go see it people!

In other news, Rachel and I went to value village and found the most amazing matching martini shakers, they look like they belong on the set of that 70's show. You can all come visit mine soon, like when you help me move on the first of september! (you know you want to help!)

Its official, my sister has finally succombed to the family curse, I'm going to help her pick out her first pair of glasses tomorrow! MWAHAHAHAHA! Now I'm not alone in my blindness! I kina feel bad for her, but not too bad since she only needs them for night driving and to read the black board, she's got a long way to go til she achieves my level of extreme nearsightedness... if thats supposed to all be one long word.

In other news, adam is planning on going on the camping trip from hell with some of his software buddies, and I'm debating whether or not to join him. The deal is that its supposed to be a five day hiking trip in new york state, which involves carrying absolutely everything we'd need for the enitre time, counting all the water. I think five days of water seems too heavy for me. There's other issues of course, like the no shower, no bathroom, the tons of bugs and having to wear long pants to keep them away in hot hot weather... overall it sounds like i'd come home gross and smelly and half eaten by bugs. One part of me would really really like to go since we've never gone on a real trip together, but theres the other part of me that really really doesnt want to go. And i think that the not wanting to go part is a lot bigger.

That's about it, besides the fact that I'm going to see charlie and the chocolate factory on friday. It looks like one big acid trip, so that should be an interesting experience, Rachel might have to hold my hand if i get scared. I'm torn between my love of Johnny Depp and Tim Burton and how scary it looks... best of luck to me!

OOOOH... is that PIE?

oh noah, you make me laugh. For that matter, so did everyone at the cottage! I can safely say that it was one of the best weekends ever! Between the sun and the swimming and the beer and all the amazing people, it was the perfect way to unwind. There's just no way that I could possibly describe everything that happened, but there are a few highlights, that I can't resist sharing. Like when AK blew up a kiddy pool and used it as a boat :) Can't wait to get the pictures developed!

Congrats!

this is for rachie for getting into york!!!! yay!!! no more smelly states!!! and now you can come visit me! :)
