Pink Party

The pink party has come and gone, and it was good times! The results of our value village trip (and many other people's thrift store pilgrimages too) are here for everyone to see. The pink skirt was made out of some kind of horrible material not found in nature, and it was so uncomfortable!

It was a hot night, So it was good that we had the basement and the backyard for the party.

Noah won best dressed for the night... obviously

...and no pink party would be complete without a man in a dress

Ireland Trip

Since blogger has decided to co-operate once again, I'm finally posting a few pictures from my most recent trip back to Ireland to visit Matt and Liz, which ended far too soon. It was such an nice change from all my previous family visit-filled over planned vacations. We slept in, never had any real plans, and had a great time wandering the city with the guidance of Matt and Liz. The first two pictures here are of St. Stephen's Green in Dublin, which is an amazing park, and a great place to go to relax when you've got some free time on your hands.

We were really lucky and had great weather for the whole trip, it only rained the day we flew in, and most of that got slept through. Of course the trip included a visit to Guinness, where we were able to meet up with Garret and his girlfriend- the only Irish one in the bunch and the only one who didn't like Guiness either- go figure!

So, there we are, happy with our beer. Another fun part of the trip was learning how to use my new carmera, which does lots of neat things. I really like this picture of Liz.

And some more Guinness,

This next one is from the day that the four of us went to the coast. We were a little worried about the weather, but soon found out that the forecast means absolutely nothing!! Everyday was "partly cloudy with a chance of rain". The day was mostly spent wandering the town and walking the beach. One of the best highlights of the day was this little restuaunt up in the town that we stopped for lunch at, it had the most amazing view. The pics below give a bit of an idea.

Another highlight of the trip was our nights out at the pub. We spent a couple of nights at the Porterhouse bars, which had great food (even for a veggie like me) and a wide selection of beers they brew independantly. The first night was the one in the city centre, which was a gorgerou place, complete with live music. The picture here is from the one in the north end of the city, which was also really nice too. Along with all the stout, I also got to try a few new ciders... so good!

The last part of the trip was a visit to the North to see Steve's family in Downpatrick, which is a really pretty town, and supposed to the burial place of St. Patrick. The part of the trip in the north was really the only time we saw much of the country side, which I really enjoyed. We also spent a day in Belfast with Julie- another place I hadn't been to. The last picture is Julie and her fiancee Johnathan, they're too cute.

Iron Ring

After four long years, iron ring day finally came. It was a night of beer and dr. evil impressions. I think the best part of the night was when Steve told my grad supervisor about Mike in the drunk dress at the cottage!

Rant Ahead

Sugar and Spice and everything nice, thats what little girls are made of....... now that's just BULLSHIT. I live with girls now, and if this is what girls are really like, than I'm scared, and I have newfound sympathy for men everywhere. I thought I could live with girls, but having only lived with engineering girls in the past, I don't think I got the full effect. Living with regular girls has been like being on a freaking National Geographic special. I just don't get them. They just dont make any sense. It hurts my poor logical brain.

Whats with all the shrieking, giggling and crying? How come they never seem to cook, but the mess in the kitchen keeps getting bigger? Why can't I take a shower without setting off an avalance of bottles in the shower? Whats with the pile of shoes two feet high in the hall closet? What good is having shoes you can't even get to because of all your other shoes? Most importantly, Who in the name of god gives up ALCOHOL in attempt to lose weight?!? Is there anyone out there who can answer my questions? Please help me understand.

Green Building

Last thursday... aka the second day in dress-shoe hell, I participated in the green building competition, and our team won!! This is the pretty building that the civils designed. My group designed a natural treatment process for the wastewater in the building. I guess I could put a copy of our flow plan up, but that would make me a bit of a nerd. Not that I'm not at least a little nerdy, but i think that would cross the line.

Goings On

Life hasn't exactly been a picnic lately, but the old blog still needs a little update now and again. Its neglected. The Chirstmas holidays treated me well, with new years hilarity, and a pretty pretty dress being some of the highlights. I have a pic of what the bridesmaid dress for geoffatalie looks like, but it should be blue. Isnt it purdy?

I have to buy a printer. That makes me mad, since I want to spend my money on pretty toys like a new camera, and not essentail practical things. Grrr. I can think of so many other things I could use the money I will spend on the printer. Like perogies.... mmmm.
